Bruce Washburn Scholarship
In 1989, the Rhinebeck Soccer Club (formerly Rhinebeck Soccer League) was established. The concept of RSC providing a scholarship was initially conceived years ago and RSC has been giving out a scholarship to a graduating Rhinebeck High School Senior for numerous years. In 2013, the RSC officially established the “Rhinebeck Soccer Club Scholarship Program” as a means of recognizing two (2) graduating Rhinebeck high school seniors for their contributions to RSC’s athletic community and encouraging excellence in academic performance by student-athletes. Through this scholarship, the RSC wishes to acknowledge the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment involved for student athletes who perform well in the classroom and on the field. Under this program, two student-athletes annually will be awarded an undergraduate college scholarship in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in their undergraduate college studies. It is intended that an individual named for this scholarship receive a scholarship up to $1,000.00 and be recognized as one who has combined the best elements of mind and body to achieve distinction for their achievements and promises to be a future leader in their chosen field of career service.
The RSC Scholarship is based upon the student’s contributions to RSC’s athletic community, acceptance to an accredited educational institution, writing sample, letters of recommendation, interview, GPA and ranking if available.
Guidelines
Application Deadline: May 1st/annually.
Amount: Up to 2 x $1,000.00/annually.

Application Requirements:
- Must be a graduating Rhinebeck High School Senior who has been accepted and will be attending an accredited educational institution following graduation
- Must have played competitive soccer for RSC (formerly RSL)
- One letter of recommendation
- Writing sample (1 page or less) describing how soccer has impacted this student’s life
- Completed application form
- Possible Interview by RSC Officers (to be completed by May 15/annually)
